About Us
Blast N Scrap is a nonprofit organization which supports young and emerging musicians and artists by providing performance and workshop space that advances social inclusion and environmental sustainability in the arts.
We offer regular educational and career development opportunities to train young musicians and artists on alternative approaches to careers in the arts. By connecting touring musicians and local bands we help our local musicians develop the networks they need to succeed in their careers. We also specialize in environmentally and economically sustainable approaches to creating merchandise, such as t-shirts, album covers, and more.
Blast N Scrap is powered by Executive Director, Michael Gormley, a Board of Directors, our Advisory Horde, and a team of volunteers and contract staff. We are working to grow to support full-time paid staff. Until we can secure our own physical venue space, we are a pop-up venue, renting and utilizing donated spaces in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Our Mission
Empower artists by providing collaborative, donation-based, all-ages multi-media events with the main focus on music. We also offer music instruction, access to instruments, professional development, and workshops for merchandise, recording, and other essentials for working musicians.
Our Values
Creativity, inclusivity, safe space, sustainability, community projects, collaborations, and empowerment.
Our Partners
Blast N Scrap works with food banks, clothing redistributors, local venues, comedians, LGBTQIA+ groups, circus entertainment, drag performers, other nonprofits, and every kind of artist imaginable to create a continuum of available resources for those we serve.
"Blast N Scrap is everything right now. Without Blast N Scrap, we don’t have anywhere else we can play.”
-Asa Wright, local drummer and head of Sleeping Porch Records
